So Long To Tradition

.. For over 25 years the Pine Shadows Motel has been a meeting place for fly fishers from around the world. The cozy lobby, tying bench, local expertise, and friendly atmosphere is now just a memory.
.. Blaine Heaps; guide, outfitter, hosteler, host, and friend to many has sold the motel. He's still around -- for now.
.. The motel is still supposed to be a wader friendly place but expansion by the new owners promises to remove the patina from the traditions that have been built there. Modern stick-built construction is in vogue now. We wonder how long it will be before there's not a log cabin left?
.. We have removed this motel from our sidebar until that time that we discover that its hospitality has not been significantly degraded, and that there is still an ambiance conducive to both tall tales and fish stories.
