.. Just as the neighbors felt that they could get out and freeze up some line guides it got a bit too cold for even the most intrepid fishers. They just are not rich enough to travel to the tropical cities of Bozeman or Ennis or Cameron.
.. There are some spiders just waiting for some exercise. Nothing new or earth shattering about the spiders. They do, however, if properly presented, agitate the rambunctious trout now moving into the Hebgen Tailwater.

SPIDER

.. It's a bit of alright when it's possible to gore a sex crazed trout from the bank. It's more than that when there is no "REEL ACTION" involved, (no pun.)
.. With just a rod's length of line and a spider it is possible to encourage the bite.
.. The neighbors, (with a long rod = 10' 4wt.,) just touch the surface with the legs of the spider. Time and again right above or even, just behind the trout.  POW !!! Hang on. That'll clear your guides or break your insubstantial leader/tippet.
.. Time for a thermometer check.
