    RUNNERS RUNNING
    Baetids Hatching
    fishers finding fishes
BE SURE THAT THE FLAT HAT IN THE BUSHES DOESN'T CATCH YOU
    -------
.. Stranded fishers at the periphery of Yellowstone National Park are crowding waters that, under normal conditions, seldom get fished.
    CLEARLY MARKED
..Elbows are flailing as the Fall Run of trout from Hebgen Reservoir continue on their appointed rounds.
.. National Park Service Rangers are patrolling the pull outs along the Gallatin River in the Northwest corner of Yellowstone National Park. Should you park there, and step foot on park land, you are subject to a $500 fine and up to 6 months in jail for trespassing.
.. The hazy park line in the Baker's Hole Region is closely scrutinized by law enforcement for trespassers and fisher's flies that might stray into the park waters.
.. If you paid hard earned money for a Yellowstone fishing permit it is now worthless for the purpose that it was sold to you.
.. Some legal eagles have been investigating the possibilities of action to redress the grievance of a contract that was unilaterally declared null and void by the Government of the United States Of America.
.. Refunds and class action lawsuits are on the lips of disgruntled anglers. Now that would be an interesting legal wrangle.
.. The Duck Creek Culvert has attracted a mob of fishers. Batids of various sorts are clogging vehicle grills in this area - fish are being caught.
.. The highway bridge over the Madison River just north of town is a point of congregation for fishers. Movement upstream and downstream is facilitated by the recently tromped trails created by fishers that had hoped to fish adjacent to their vehicles in the  park..
.. There is little room for vehicle parking at the northern boundary of the park along the Gallatin Highway to Bozeman. Snowflake Springs is becoming a crowded destination fishery on the Gallatin River.
.. There are fish to be had. There are bugs and more bugs. There is no legal access to fishing in Yellowstone National Park. There are tens of thousands disappointed visitors, There is a handful of highly disgruntled fishers.
.. Variously attributed to Alexis de Tocqueville, Joseph-Marie, comte de Maistre, and even Mark Twain, this quote comes to mind: "Democracies deserve the government and leaders that they elect."
.. We're headed to a secret spot where there are no fishers, no rangers, no tourons, no elbows, and no fish. There are grouse and elk.
