    Going Viral

    A MASTERPIECE
    'Shopped Job
    the neighbor's find
    FROM THE CHOSEN ONE
    -------
.. God bless the kids on the block. They clued us in to a bunch of images from the interwebs.
.. Apparently a painting by Jon McNaughton has caused quite a stir among the Photoshop crowd on the web. Modified images are popping up on all manner of sites, (look-1, look-2, look-3.)
.. Over a late coffee this morning the kids attacked our computer and filled both screens with the altered images - some funny, some strange and, some critical. The one above struck home with us.
    -----
    THESE WORK GREAT
.. Quickly: Gulpers on Hebgen Reservoir getting better by the hour, Hoppers are going crazy on the Gallatin River, the Firehole River above Old Faithful = cold water but hot catching, Slough Creek finally alive, etc.
.. Parking spaces are now available scattered around town and the elbow density has greatly abated with the opening of schools around the country. Shop now or forever regret the opportunity.
    GULP IT UP
.. It looks like the heat wave has broken and we're back to our pleasant 70's.
.. Time to fish hard. We like the South Fork of the Madison River right now. There are only a few neighbors willing to challenge the willows for the lurking submarines. The fish are hungry, unmolested and, eating from both the surface and in the water column.

    Like An Archer Fish

    BUT AT 1000 YARDS
    Precise As Poetry
    gone for a week
    WALLPAPER:  RAIL GUN
    -------
.. There's no better time to abandon fishing the west side streams in Yellowstone National Park than right now.
    ANT
.. The Gallatin River and the upper Firehole River are still barely worth fishing.
.. Small bits of the upper Gibbon River and most of Notellum Creek are swarming with active trouts.
.. Save for the earliest morning and latest afternoon fishing, river fishing is a terrestrial game. The creepies and crawlies are doing well in this warm spell.
    GULP THIS
.. If you have the wherewithal to make it to Hebgen Reservoir before the wind -- do it!
.. We'll be headed to the hottest part of the High Plains to challenge the vagaries of wind, mirage, distance and weather. It's a mental failing on our part.
    -----
.. It's a drive of heroic proportions and we'll need three or four lunches to make it. Ta Ta.
