.. Along about dusk - or even earlier - the eruption of midges from HEBGAN RESERVOIR is causing problems for motorists.

.. So far the catastrophic hatch is localized at the Happy Hour Bar and about 2 miles either side of that famous watering hole.
.. The hatch slowed down significantly today during the drippy sky period but,  picked up significantly when clear sky peeked between the waves of clouds scudding overhead.
.. Both the neighbors and visitors from foreign countries like Bozeman are taking advantage of the situation.
.. There are fish at the surface gobbling up the little morsels. They are also nibbling on anything small enough to be in the size range of eentsey. The neighborhood fly box includes a "SIMPLE P, T,"

.. Both a bead head variety and a traditional sort are being used. These little wonders are devoid of appendages, shell backs, and the twinkle and splatter of the wide range of the variations of this particularly populaar fly.
.. These flies, (tied in any size smaller than 12,) are quick and easy to tie, serve the purpose very well, and cause no problems when casting in the wind. Tie up a gross and have at it.
.. These mega hatches are sporadic, seemingly unpredictable, persistent or not, and a true wonder to behold. This one has been present for about 6 days. It may quit tomorrow with the cooler weather and overcast skies. It may pick up when the warm returns.
.. Should you be here, and should they return, there are two things to remember: be ready to trade in your streamers for small flies, and when stopping apply your brake judiciously.
