.. If you needed any reassurance, you have it now. A 22" submarine was landed at the park line near Baker's Hole just yesterday.
.. The first fish came placidly to the net, rolled it's eyes upward and flipped the angler the fin. A mere five minutes later, (from the same hole,) another was brought to hand and subsequently released. Two submarines in rapid succession suggests that  . . . well, you know.

.. It's time to get that box of streamers that you tied last month. It's time to limber up the big sticks, (even if they really ain't needed.)
.. It's time to skulk around the shadows in the pubs and listen to the whispered conversations of the local fishers, (they lie an awful lot.) It's time to add your stories to the lore and legends of fall runners on the Madison River in Yellowstone National Park, (lie if you must.)
.. If playing the waiting game is not your cup of candle wax then hie thee to the Firehole River. Temperatures have not plummeted but they have dropped into the catching range. The fish are frisky and are on the feed. Soft hackles work if you want lots of fish. If you are of the dry or die religion you may have to hunt for noses for the next week or so, They're there but not in the abundance that they shall be in a week or so.
