El Pasado Reciente

WE'VE BEEN REMISS
Focused Elsewhere
tourism & fishing goes on

-------
.. Masked, gloved and shielded, we've been busy around town helping with pandemic chores.
.. Many of our neighbors are also helping take up the slack for our diminished work force. The future holds more of the same.
.. Visitation in Yellowstone National Park is down about 32%. There are recent closures of facilities, attractions and waters.  Albright Visitor Center is closed until further notice. Boiling River Soaking/Swimming Area is also closed until further notice.

.. Fishing and catching in the park is being impacted by our unseasonably warm weather and the high snow pack melt rate.
..  The Firehole River has been experiencing temperatures near 80°F and has just returned to seasonal discharge rates.
.. The Madison River has been enjoying rapid temperature fluctuations Ranging from 60°F to 75°F and just yesterday returned to seasonal discharge rates.
.. The Gallatin River is ready for great catching. The warmth has brought forth terrestrial tidbits and there are even surface flies in the confluence meadows near Fan Creek. We're not missing it.
